Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes: We have been collecting items for the shoe boxes all year and continue through November 16.  We also need $7.00 per shoe box for shipping cost.  Donations may be made in honor or memory of loved ones. Please include the name of the honoree for each $7.00 donated. The names will be in the church bulletin on Sunday, November 9, 2014. The deadline for bringing shoe boxes is Sunday, November 16, 2014.

WMU dues are $3.00 a year per member.  All women attending Dogwood are welcomed to join WMU.  Information about Dogwood WMU is available in the church foyer.

September is Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions month.  Our goal is $600.00.  Please give generously.

October WMU News

Children & Youth Sunday School Food Pantry Challenge: An empty box for the food pantry is in each Sunday School class in the Children & Youth Department.  Each class is being challenged to collect the most canned food between October 5 – 26. On Sunday, November 2 during morning worship service Pastor Lee will present the winning class & their teacher a certificate. All the canned food collected will be donated to the Perkins Baptist Church Food Pantry.

SBC World Hunger Day is Sunday, October 12. An offering will be taken during the morning worship service.  100% of all donations received that day are used to feed the hungry.

WMU Bake Sale: Please stop by the bake sale at the Dogwood Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 18 between 11 AM & 2 PM. Home baked breads and desserts by the best bakers at Dogwood.

Missions Opportunity: Christmas in August

We are collecting school supplies for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes.  Please provide the following school supplies:  crayons, colored markers, pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, colored pencils, solar calculators, note pads, scissors.  Please remember that note pads must be able to fit in a shoe box.  DEADLINE: August 30, 2014
